Linocut Printmaking Workshop

Instructor: Lauren Sowder

Two Day Workshop:
Saturday, August 22 & Sunday, August 23
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Ready, set, carve! In this two-day workshop, you will learn techniques of linocut relief printmaking, and the fascinating history of this traditional medium. You'll design, carve, and print a 6"x8" linoleum block, and you'll leave with three to five original handmade prints of your own design on 8”x10” paper. We will cover various techniques of carving and printing, such as using oil-based printmaking inks and printing with a hand press. This workshop is beginner-friendly and will expand on techniques explored in Lauren's previous Stamp Making Workshops. No experience is necessary and all supplies will provided by the instructor. All you need to bring is an apron, or clothes you don’t mind getting ink on! Be prepared to handle sharp tools.
