Join the Middle Peninsula Fine Arts Association and award-winning portrait painter Steve Polson as they explore 21st century portraiture on Thursday, October 15th. The lecture starts at 7 pm. This talk is free and open to the public!

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Steven Polson, a renowned artist and teacher, has had a lifelong passion for drawing and painting portraits. At age 16, he began his formal study at The Art Students’ League in New York City, going on to receive a Fine Arts degree in 1984 from The Cooper Union for the Advancement for Science and Art. He has won numerous awards for his painting, including an Elizabeth T. Greenshields Foundation Grant and The Allied Artists of America Gold Medal of Honor.
Among his notable commissions are: General Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and Condoleezza Rice for the U.S. Department of State; Stephen Schwarzman, Founder of The Blackstone Group for Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University, among many others. In addition to his portrait painting, Mr. Polson has taught on the faculty of The Art Student's League, Grand Central Academy, Pratt Institute and privately at his studio.
